Congratulations to the 2019 Scholastic Art Awards Recipients

Mark Arts Museum in Wichita received more than 2,400 entries for the Eastern Kansas Scholastic Art Awards competition. Of those entries, the jurors selected 152 as Gold Key Awards, 166 as Silver Key Awards and 309 as Honorable Mention. Congratulations to all the students and educators involved! 

Gold Key works were submitted for the national judging process, and five Gold Key recipients were nominated for the Eastern Kansas American Visions Medal, which will be selected later this year.  Jefferson West junior, Tehya Starr's photograph received a Gold Key award and was selected as one of the American Vision Award nominees.  The American Vision Award is essentially a Best of Show award.  Senior, Maelin Turner, received a honorable mention award for her photograph.  

Gold Key and Silver Key works will be displayed on exhibition at Mark Arts Museum on February 1 – March 23.    The Gold Key Ceremony  recognize the Gold Key winners will be held at Mark Arts on March 23rd at 2pm.  

Tehya is the daughter of Charlie and Heather Starr of Meriden

Maelin is the daughter of Jon and Clarisa Turner of Ozawkie
