We value the grandparent's visit as well as our daily lessons in reading.  We ask that grandparents arrive about ten minutes prior to their grandchild's lunch.  You are welcome to visit your grandchild's classroom after lunch.  We politely ask that you stay no longer than 30 minutes after lunch, so we can continue our daily schedule.

Entrance and parking will be available in the front and rear of the building, but please come to the front office to check in upon your arrival.

Hello JWES families,

I hope the third quarter of the school year has been a good one for you. Since returning from Winter Break we have been very busy.  All of the grades are working hard.  They are all growing up so much.  The kindergarten class has found their groove, first graders are talking about when they are second graders, and the second graders are excited about having "their own hall"!  The third graders are looking like they will be great leaders and the fourth graders are eyeing the Middle School.

I want to thank all of you for your efforts to keep your children healthy.  I know many of you have received "the call" that your child is sick at school. We would like to keep them here and learning, however, following district policy about illness keeps our school safe from infection.  Keep encouraging your children to cover when they cough and sneeze and to wash their hands often.  Please remind the younger ones to keep their hands away from their mouths, always eat their fruits and vegetables and get plenty of rest.

The weather has been a handful this year too.  I want to thank the maintenance and custodial crew for their fantastic efforts to remove snow and keep our walks clear.  At home, keep the weather in mind as you dress your student.  We are still in the winter months and when spring gets here, it can still be very chilly outside.  We follow the district guideline for indoor recess, but like to get the kids out for fresh air as much as possible.

Keep an eye on the bulletin, it is on-line too. We will keep you up to date with school news and events.  Come on Spring!
