Wild West Reading Fun at Jeff West Elementary
On Thursday, February 1st, Jefferson West Elementary hosted a family reading night, called Wild West Read Night. Families took part in crafts, singing, games, snacks, and storytelling. Cowboy poet, Don Welborn, told about cowboy poetry and shared some poems. Branded B Ranch demonstrated lasso twirling. The evening was a fun night of Jeff West families coming together.
More cowboy fun was followed by an author visit from Mr. Brad Sneed. Mr. Sneed has written and illustrated books with wild west themes. Students in grades K-4 enjoyed listening to him explain how picture books were created. Mr. Sneed also demonstrated some drawing techniques. This was a fun week centered around literacy and families.
