Meriden, Kansas - Please join us for our monthly Pizza With Patrons on Wednesday, October 4th at 5 p.m. in the community room next to Gambino's Pizza in Meriden. This month, we have a special guest, Mr. Dale Brungardt, Director of School Finance at the Kansas Department of Education. He will join us in discussing school finance and many of the changes in public school funding in Kansas. This event is open to the public.
Dale Brungardt grew up in and graduated from Victoria, Kansas. He is a United States Air Force veteran, serving as a Nuclear Lab Technician. He earned his Bachelor's and Master’s degrees from Fort Hays State University. Dale taught Math and Physics at Hays and Phillipsburg High Schools.
In 2002, he became the principal of Ellsworth’s Junior Senior High School. He served in that role until 2015, when he became the Superintendent of the Ellsworth Schools. In July of 2021, Dale joined the School Finance team at the Kansas State Department of Education as the Director of School Finance.
Dale lives in Topeka with his wife Beth and their golden doodle. They have 4 children and one daughter-in-law scattered around the central and eastern parts of the state in various occupations. Beth and Dale enjoy spending time with their family and especially with their grandkids, Quinton and Elanor. In addition, he loves woodworking, do-it-yourself projects, looking up at stars and airplanes, and taking photos of them.
