Last night we requested that everybody wear an article of RED clothing today in observance of Red Ribbon Week.
We had a visit from Ofc. Kody Olson, Ofc. Jodi Clary, Ofc. Timothy Bacon, and Ofc. Joe Witham. Naturally, Olson's partner Ofc. "Garp" stole the show. Officer Olson explained to the kids that Garp is a "professional" K9 and demonstrated his abilities to sniff out drugs. Garp was rewarded with a toy each time he found them. The student's howled and Garp got to play. He spoke of the importance of making good choices and saying "no" to drugs.
Officer Olson also touched on the importance of having parent's check out their candy after an awesome Halloween haul. And no, it's not just to collect the "candy tax", but to ensure that all the candy is safe to consume and none of it has been tampered with.
