Inclement Weather: Please be watching for school closing announcements. Every attempt will be made to notify the public by 6:30 A.M. if school is to be closed or opening delayed in the morning. Only on very rare occasions will school close early. When school is to be closed or delayed, the following radio and TV stations will be notified: Radio, WIBW-AM (580), WIBW-FM (94.5), KMAJ-AM (1440), KMAJ-FM (107.7). Television stations: Channel 13, 27, and 49. In order to receive Skylert messages from the school, please make sure that the office has your current contact information. We will send out a text message and phone call if school is delayed or closed. Thank you for your cooperation.
Winter Read Night: Please join us December 7th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. for our annual Winter Read Night at JWES! Some of the events include cookie decorating, holiday crafts, Santa and Mrs. Clause will be here to read a story, flashlight reading, hayrides, hot chocolate, and so much more! We expect this to be even bigger than last year!! That’s going to be hard to beat!
Christmas Food Drive: JWES is holding their Christmas food drive to benefit God’s Storehouse from November 27th through December 15th. Please bring nonperishable, unexpired, food items to the elementary school. Please, share what you can.
Note from Nurse Abby: Reminder: During enrollment there was a section titled, “Consent For Over-The-Counter Remedies”, to provide permission to the school to administer over the counter medications per label instructions as needed, up to four times during the school year. If your child will need more than the four doses, then you will need to purchase and complete the Medication Administration form found on the district website, also available in the school office. All medications must be brought to the school by the parent or guardian, this includes cough drops. I know this may be inconvenient, but we have to do what is most safe for all of the students. We have mints and lifesavers available in the office, which have been helpful. Please reach out with any questions.
Cookie Dough Pick-Up Rescheduled: Cookie Dough Pickup has been rescheduled to Monday, December 4th from 2pm-6pm at St. Aloysius Church. Apparently someone underestimated how awesome JWES students would be at selling cookie dough. Our large order isn’t quite ready yet!!
