In the following weeks we will not be having outside recess regardless of the weather, as both playgrounds are getting a makeover. Please stay tuned to the web site for more info, pictures and news about the progress of the makeover.
As basketball season continues, please help us keep a safe environment by having your children either sitting at the tables in the HS commons or with you in the bleachers and not playing running games like tag or chase.
Winter seems to have set in on us finally. As a result, please make sure your child has a good coat, hat, and gloves each day for recess. We will go outside if the temp/wind chill is 15 degrees or higher. If you are in need of a coat, hat, or gloves, we have new items that have been donated…please just let us know, and we will get your child set up.
The elementary tutoring program will start back up THIS Tuesday, January 18th Families of these students, we will follow the same plans for pick up/bussing after tutoring is over.
REMINDER: Jefferson West provides a free voluntary daily testing for Covid-19. Parents may request their student, quarantined as a close contact, be voluntarily tested with an antigen test so that they can Stay, Learn, and Participate at school and school activities with a negative test. Students who may be experiencing Covid symptoms may also be tested.
Where: South stadium parking lot by the Varsity Locker Room
When: Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM or until the request for tests are completed
Process: Walk up to the tester with a signed permission form (for first time testing at JW). Once the permission form is on record another is not needed, unless the parent has rescinded the permission. Tester will swab the student, and results will be available approximately 20 minutes after completing the test.
Due to COVID: 1. We are not using the drinking fountains. Please send your child/children with a
refillable water bottle. We have filling stations available.
2. Students will only be allowed to ride their assigned bus(s).
