1st Grade Grandparent’s Day: Grandparents/Grandfriends may arrive to the school at 1:15. We will have activities from 1:30 to 2:30. At that time, if a permission slip has been signed by the parent, you are dismissed with your grandchild. We also ask that it ONLY be the 1st grader, and no siblings, as it is their special day. Siblings will go home at their normal time and in their normal way. Grandparents may plan on picking up siblings on their special day. We appreciate your cooperation.
Cell Phone policy reminder: While parents may want their child to have a cell phone, we highly discourage students bringing them to school. Students are prohibited from using them at school, on the school grounds during the school day and on the school bus. If a student uses a cell phone at school, the phone will be confiscated and returned to the student at the end of the student day. Any further violations will result in the phone being returned to the student’s parents. The school is not responsible for any cell phone damage. This includes Apple watches and similar types of devices. If your child is feeling ill, they must tell their teacher and report to the office for proper parent notification.
Strep Notice: We are seeing an increase in absence due to strep infection. Strep symptoms usually develop 2-5 days from exposure. Strep is very contagious. Parents as well as school staff have NOT reported fevers with the positive strep test, but many have reported sore throat and/or skin sores/rash. Please monitor your child for symptoms, keep them home if they are ill, and follow up with your medical provider. Also a reminder to call the office each day your child is absent. We appreciate you sharing what you are seeing at home with illness. It helps everyone know what we need to be watching for.
