Hello Friends of Jefferson West High School and Community Members!
Have you ever paid a bill? Are you 18 or older? Would you enjoy a fun opportunity to help students learn real-life financial skills? If you answered yes, we’d love for you to join us as a volunteer for Reality U, our interactive financial simulation!
What is Reality U?
Students will complete a pre-survey about the lifestyle they hope to have at age 26. During the event, they’ll receive a “paycheck” based on their survey and navigate real-world expenses—like housing, transportation, phone plans, and more.
What will you do as a volunteer?
You’ll run a booth as a sales representative (housing, utilities, transportation, etc.), helping students make financial decisions. Don’t worry—all booth information and training will be provided. We just need YOU!
This is a great opportunity to connect with students and help them see how their education today impacts their financial future tomorrow.

Tuesday, April 21, is National Library Workers Day (NLWD)—a time to recognize library professionals for their expertise and leadership in transforming lives and communities through education and lifelong learning.
This day also serves as a reminder that library workers are vital to our schools and communities, acting as guides who connect individuals to endless opportunities for engagement, enrichment, and growth.
USD 340 recognizes all of our library workers and the incredible work they do throughout the year, take a moment to say thank you, share your gratitude, or recognize the impact they have on your learning and success.
We appreciate all that you do!

Parents, we need YOU. 📢
We need volunteers for field day. 🏈 Are you waiting to see if the good spots fill up before you sign up? Or are you nervous you won't know how to do one of the activities?
No worries! They're ALL good spots so grab one and the kiddos can show you how the activity is done. You don't have to show your skills (unless you want to show off how it's done!) Mostly we just need an adult or 2 (Or 3, grab your friends!!!) to help keep order at each station and help them switch when their time is up.
So let your supervisors know you won't be at work on May 1 because your kid and their school needs you! 👏
