The State of Kansas each year has school districts nominate one elementary and one secondary teacher to be recognized as a candidate for the Kansas Teacher of the Year Program. These teachers are nominated by their peers and will go through an extensive application process to be considered at the regional and state level. It is always an honor to be selected by your peers as an educator that demonstrates excellence in the classroom and cares deeply about students and their learning.
Congratulations to Sara Becker – HS Foreign Language teacher, Secondary Kansas Teacher of the Year candidate.
And congratulations to Amanda Hammond – 5th Grade teacher, Elementary Kansas Teacher of the Year candidate.
We wish the best of luck to both Sara and Amanda at the regional and state level competitions. TIGER ROAR!!

Bullying is not an option.
Never bully anyone. Stop friends who bully someone. NO ONE deserves it, or should have to deal with it. If you're being bullied, don't be embarrassed to tell your parents or another adult. They'll want to know, and want to help you.

Kindergarten started their morning on Friday with a "Walk and Talk". Every morning, we rotate through the classes for a little social time around the playground. Mrs. Lloyd happened to capture the kindness being spread this particular beautiful morning. (Notice all the hand holding 🫶)

Lay out your best outfits tonight, be sure to comb your hair in the morning, and brush those pearly whites real good, Tigers!
IT'S PICTURE DAY, TOMORROW!

Parents, just so you are aware, the $3.00 for the movie ticket includes a small drink and popcorn for your student. Unfortunately, we will be on a time crunch, so please ensure your kiddo leaves their allowances at home. There will be no extra purchases allowed. Thank you! We will be getting back in time for your student to eat a sack lunch in their classrooms. No need to send lunches.
Students, teachers, and staff are all so excited for this field trip! We've never done anything like this before, so it will be an experience. Nonetheless, we thank you for allowing us to experience it with your littles. 🤖

Parents: This is a friendly reminder to go through your child's backpack. Jr. Weststeppers form and payment is due Tuesday, Sept. 24th.

Reminder: There is no school Monday, Sept 16th due to Professional Development.
