JWBA will have in-person registration next weekend on March 2nd, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jeff West Elementary School, during the Meriden/Ozawkie Chamber of Commerce Pancake Feed. You can also register online at http://www.leaguelineup.com/gojeffwest. LAST DAY TO REGISTER is March 3rd - Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball registration will close March 3rd, 2024. We are looking forward to a great season! GO TIGERS!!

Jeff West families, we are excited for our 2024 One Book, One Neighborhood - "Wishtree". For our new families, this is an opportunity for every student K-4 to be reading the same book at the same time. We even have local businesses participating with us. If any community members would like a book, we do have extra. You can contact the librarian at jennifer.lloyd@usd340.org. Look for signs throughout the community and then talk about the book! Below is the reading schedule starting February 22nd and ending on March 7th. Please don't feel overwhelmed to stick exactly to the schedule read when you can and catch up when you have the time. Enjoy! (Books were provided by a grant obtained from Northeast Kansas Library System)

2nd Grade Grandparent's Day will take place on February 15th. We invite all 2nd-grade grandparents and grand-friends to visit their grandchildren at the elementary school at 1:30 P.M. You may start signing in at 1:15. We will not be able to dismiss your grandchild with you unless we have been given permission (per the slip sent home). We do ask that you only take the 2nd grader, as the other grandchildren will get their special time on another date. We also ask that you come back and join us at 7:00 P.M. for a wonderful concert that they have put on for you. RED FRIDAY - January 19th

1st Grade Program Info 2024 PLEASE NOTE: Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Please report to your classroom at 6:40 p.m. WEAR: Attire for the concert is COWBOY/COWGIRL SHIRT: A button-down long sleeve shirt is preferred, either solid color or plaid. No words or logos on the shirt, unless it has to do with cowboys. BANDANA: If you’re having trouble finding one, Wal-Mart has them for $1. Hobby Lobby (in Topeka and Lawrence) has a great selection - $1.29 each. PANTS: Nice jeans (no holes). NO SHORTS, please. Girls may wear western-looking skirts instead of jeans. SHOES: Cowboy boots or other shoes. No flip-flops. Girls -- no high heels. COWBOY HAT (optional) if you have one! We have been working hard to prepare a great program for you. Kindergarten Round-Up - April 15th

JANUARY 16 - Due to the forecasted windchill tomorrow morning, Tuesday, January 16th, Jefferson West USD 340 will be closed. All practices and events are cancelled. The boys basketball tournament game scheduled to be played in Oskaloosa, has been moved to Wednesday with a tip-off time of 6:15pm. We are waiting to hear from Atchison with regards to the girls basketball games. Please stay safe and warm.
