Cookie Dough Pick Up is November 3rd from 3:30 PM - 6 PM at the Meriden United Methodist Church (100 Dawson St).

A local business (Lago Vista Grill) shared their desire to help those in need during these hard times. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to help, but this is a simple way to make a difference. Bring what you can, and let’s fill our local blessing boxes together. 🍎🥖🥫

Jefferson West High School Student Council is hosting its annual Blood Drive in just 2½ weeks!
🩸 Tuesday, November 11th | 8am–2pm

Spread the word — ask friends and family if they would like to donate blood!
Students 16 and older may register to donate.
Students under 16 must have a signed permission waiver before donating.

Fall is in full swing, and that means daylight saving time will draw to a close and end on the first Sunday in November at 2am, when clocks "fall back" an hour.

Daylight saving time was first established in the U.S. by Congress after the Calder Act, or the Standard Time Act of 1918, was passed more than 100 years ago and was more recently amended with the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Don’t be early for whatever you have planned for Sunday!

There's still time to sign up for our Harley Night, sponsored by Jefferson West Football!

This Friday, 10/31, we’ll be hosting a first-round matchup in the 3A playoffs, and we want to start the evening with some extra excitement! We’re inviting community members to take their motorcycles for a lap around the track before kickoff to help set the tone for the night.

If you’d like to participate, please scan the QR code on the flyer to sign up and fill out the Google form. Additional details will be shared via email. Space is limited sign up soon!

Jefferson West Elementary School has been awarded a $3,000 competitive grant from the Northeast Kansas Library System (NEKLS).

The funds will be used to update the school’s non-fiction collection and provide supplementary reading materials that align with the recently adopted reading curriculum. By expanding and modernizing these resources, the school aims to better support student learning, encourage curiosity, and strengthen literacy skills across all grade levels.

Jefferson West Elementary is grateful to NEKLS for their investment in student success and looks forward to enhancing the library’s role as a hub for exploration and discovery.

About NEKLS: Northeast Kansas Library System (NEKLS) is one of seven Kansas Regional Systems of Cooperating Libraries. NEKLS is dedicated to providing universal access to exceptional library service through its 117 member libraries (11 academic; 48 public; 50 school districts; 8 special) in the 14 counties of Northeast Kansas through the cooperation and peer support of NEKLS member libraries, and the assistance of the NEKLS staff of library consultants.

This assembly has always been a big one for us, as the students AND staff look forward to it every year! Come see what they have to say! If you would like to lend us an item to place in our display case in the foyer, please bring that item to school by November 1st.

Our lost and found table is literally OVERFLOWING! Please stop by and check for your child's things and/or encourage your child to check it out on their way into school.

Our Holiday Dinner is coming up! The forms are going home today for food reservations. Please get those forms filled out and sent back as quickly as possible. They are due back by November 3rd with NO EXCEPTIONS. This is due to the food ordering process and ensuring we have enough for everybody who has placed their reservations. We can't wait for you to join us for a holiday meal!

Busses will run two hours later. Classes begin at 10:00 A.M. Doors open at 9:30 A.M. Grab and go breakfast will be available.
