📖 A Little History:
Mother’s Day was founded by Anna Jarvis, who wanted to set aside a day to honor all mothers because she believed a mother is “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world.”
After the passing of her mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, in 1905, Anna began her campaign to make Mother’s Day a nationally recognized holiday. She promoted white carnations as the symbol of the day. In 1914, Woodrow Wilson signed the proclamation officially recognizing Mother’s Day as a national holiday.
Today, we honor all mothers and those who fill that role with love, strength, guidance, and endless support. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Jefferson West! 🌷
