The Winter Sports Parent Meeting for HS Girls B'ball, HS Boys B'ball, HS Girls Wrestling, and HS Boys Wrestling is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 8th @ 7pm. Jefferson West High School Culinary Essentials class that is preparing a Hydroponic Garden tower with seeds and water. Most of the seeds are lettuce, kale, basil, and green beans. Water from the tower operates on a regular schedule and LED lights provide indoor lighting when the classroom lights are off. A sponge like pod with an indention allows the seeds to sit nestled in the pod and in a basket where the water trickles down to water the seeds. These will be used in the cooking labs during this end of the semester at Jefferson West High School and many will provide at least three cuttings off of them. The tower garden was provided by the District 340 food coordinator Nicole Gillihan. The Culinary Essentials class is taught by Leslie Abbott.
