From Mrs. Martin's English Classes...
The Sophomores have been learning about theme, conflict, ethos, pathos and logos this unit as we make our was through Jackie Robinson’s Autobiography “I Never Had It Made.” In order to help build connections we thought what better than to take them to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum! But why stop there, if we were already there, we would have to stop by the Iconic Restaurant, Arthur Bryant’s! I just hope they enjoyed today half as much as I did. They did wonderful and represented Jefferson West High School well. I'm very proud of their maturity and seriousness in today’s experience.

Jefferson West Varsity Baseball and Varsity Softball teams host our neighbors to the north, Valley Falls, today. First pitch is 4:30pm. LET'S PLAY BALL!!

USD 340 Jefferson West has an outstanding team of administrative professionals who work together every day behind the scenes to keep our District running smoothly. They take care of millions of details, do more than is asked, multitask with ease, and so much more. We appreciate you ~ Amber, Amy, Becca, Chasity, Erin, Jill, Karla, Linda, Melanie, Pam, and Savanna ~ TIGER ROAR!!

What does Earth Day mean to you? This is a question worthy of reflection for each of us.
In the spirit of Earth Day, USD 340 Jefferson West encourages all of us to learn something about the environmental conditions in our neighborhood, city, or region. Creating opportunities to remain knowledgeable about surrounding environmental conditions may inspire individuals to pursue solutions that address specific environmental issues closest to home.

From Sports in Kansas...
Jefferson West (3A) remains undefeated on the year, taking down Silver Lake 10-6 and 19-2 last night. On the night, the Tigers saw 4 home runs from 4 different players: Drew Beilman, Tucker Holthaus, Brady Skahan, and Corbin Mayer. In an extra inning showdown in game one, sophomore Corbin Mayer hit his homer and was followed later in the inning by a Tucker Holthaus grand slam that sealed the 10-6 win. The Tigers move to 15-0 on the year and have now handed Silver Lake 3 of their 5 losses on the year including in the championship of the Silver Lake tournament this past weekend.

From Head Softball Coach Barger...
Thankful to have been challenged and look failure in the face in the first game. Extremely proud of the teams’ response in the second. And excited to see how tonight’s learning opportunity shapes us for our future if we use it right. ❤️🖤
Never back down never what? Never give up!! That’s a split.

Great job to the Varsity Tigers Golf Team, led by Gage Moser with an overall 2nd place finish, the Tigers won the Osage City Invitational! Also medaling for Jefferson West were Daniel Magathan, Jace Coleman and Conner Reich. CONGRATULATIONS!!

Jefferson West Community...
Jefferson West High School Track and Field is in DESPERATE need of more volunteers for our Varsity track meet on Tuesday, April 22nd! We were able to pull off our JV meet earlier this week only because most of the upperclassmen and MS track athletes were able to run/work the meet. We will NOT have the ability to do that for this upcoming meet.
This is literally a four alarm fire scenario. If other teams' coaches are forced to run events, there's a great chance they will stop coming to our meet!
If any of you can clear your schedule to help, please do so!!! Here's the link to signup to help. https://www.signupgenius.com/.../20F0848A8AE2EA3FA7...
Thank you in advance!
