At the Silver Lake JV Invitational Golf Tournament on Wednesday, the Lady Tigers took 1st place and brought home a 1st place plaque. Megan Malone took 1st place individually and Dearah Garrett took 2nd place. Joslynn Sutton was 8th and Ellie Stowe was 9th. Placing in the top 15 but not medaling were Ava Morrow 11th and Julia Thompson 13th. Great Job Lady Tigers.
Wednesday the horticulture class attended the Nursery and Landscape CDE. Members identified plants, weeds, diseases and tools while at the event. We ended out with eating Mexican food.
RESULTS: Congratulations to the Lady Tiger varsity golf team. They won the Council Grove Invitational by over 20 strokes. The Tigers were led by Katelin Lohmann who was the overall tournament champion! All 6 of the Lady Tigers placed in the top 10. The other team members were, Sydney Sage, Ryleigh Zitek, Izzy Higgins, Emma Herring, and Taryn Taylor. TIGER ROAR!

RESULTS: We played our final home match of the season on Tuesday. We had the honor of recognizing our senior, Lauren Crotinger. We are so proud of her and all of her accomplishments in her four years as a Lady Tiger. Luckily we still have the second half of our season to go with her. Thank you to all our our fans that came out to support us and a shout out to the middle school team that filled our student section last night! We loved having you!

RESULTS: From Head Coach Darin Lawhorn... Jefferson West Girls take second at Osage City Invitational. The Lady Tigers shot a season best 182 overall. The Tigers were led by Izzy HIggins who shot a 43 (5th place overall) and Katelin Lohman who shot a 44 (6th place overall). Also medaling for Jefferson West was Taryn Taylor and Emma Herring!!

“Positive Outweighs Negative” and “It’s a positive JW community thing.” It’s a lot bigger than one game or one play. It’s bigger than if your kid plays or not. It’s bigger than if your kid plays a certain position or not. If everyone understands the big picture and helps us to continue growing and doing what we are doing here, then one day/year it will change, and we will all get to be a part of the winning and good times. A lot of things have to happen before you are a winner. We have played three games at the Varsity Level and have come up short each game. But, every varsity football player shows up to Saturdays stretch/film sessions, and our original team goal this year is still within reach. Our Varsity Football Players and Coaches are leaders on the Field, in the classroom and within the Community. Our football players “Lead by Example” and go out of their normal schedule to go and support other programs. I see and feel the change this year full force. All of us need to take a step back and watch how these young men handle hard times and bounce right back every time. Parents and Coaches want the same thing for our boys. We want them to have success in whatever they do. This year the “Big Picture” is taking hold and our boys are going to be some great adults. They will have success in their careers, they will also have strong families lead by their own examples. There is so much positive happening around here all the time that the negative is being pushed to the side. Believe in Yourself and those around you and Stay the Course!
