Facilities Needs List

The following list of facility needs was developed by the Facilities Planning Committee with the focus on existing infrastructure, and what should be addressed in the next 5 – 10 years or the district would be significantly behind when keeping our facilities safe, efficient, and operational for student learning. This is not an all-inclusive list, but a beginning to a conversation about our existing facility needs. It also includes new space for student growth considerations.

 

All Facilities

  • Upgrade security systems/cameras.

  • Window protection film for all entrances.

  • Roof replacements for certain sections of buildings.

  • Masonry crack repairs.

  • Sidewalk/concrete repairs.

  • Downspouts and drainage

  • Lighting replacement

  • Painting throughout the district

  • Refinish gym floors at JWPS & MS

Preschool

  • Rooftop HVAC Unit for 6 original classrooms with PTAC wall units.

  • Window replacement in 6 original classrooms.

  • Secured front entrance with windows for visibility.

  • Foundation and wall crack repairs.

  • Restroom upgrades

  • Kitchen remodel

  • Outdoor playground/classroom furniture and sunshade

Elementary School

  • 2-4 new classrooms for student growth

  • Rooftop HVAC Unit for 20+ classrooms with PTAC wall units.

  • Fire Alarm Systems

  • Upgrade electrical panels and surge protectors.

Middle School

  • 2-4 new classrooms for student growth

  • Rooftop HVAC Unit for 10 classrooms with PTAC wall units.

  • Replace gym heating.

  • Exterior waterproofing/insulation.

  • Replace one transformer and upgrade electrical panels and surge protectors.

  • Repair classrooms with floor and wall structural issues.

  • Upgrade Volleyball Standards and scoreboards in gym

  • Back Exit foundation repair.

  • Diverting water from high school.

High School

  • Upgrade electrical panels.

  • Food Storage and Freezer space for consolidated kitchen.

  • Replace speaker & intercom system.

  • Locker area remodel.

  • Concrete walk replacement at entrance.

  • Concrete pillar repair at entrance.

  • Parking lot repairs.

  • Upgrade VB standards.

  • Locker room ventilation.

Vocational Agriculture

  • HVAC upgrades. (Just replaced this summer, but ventilation is still an issue)

  • Electrical services.

  • Classroom upgrades

  • Exterior upgrades

Football/Track/Transportation Complex

  • Replace/repair existing track.

  • Building structure to cover buses.

Other Possible Purchases

  • Passenger Bus – either route or activity

  • Activity Van

  • Maintenance truck – 350 or 3500

  • Skid Steer

  • Equipment: Preschool lunchroom tables, student desks/chairs, etc.
