Congratulations to Osiris Unruh! He represented Jefferson West and the State of Kansas EXTREMELY well recently. Osiris was invited to wrestle for Team Kansas at the Heartland National Duals wrestling meet in Iowa. He faced the top ranked wrestlers from Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, as well as the Kansas 5A State Champion, and was UNDEFEATED!!! Osiris ended his season with a 49-2 record. Osiris, your tiger community is so proud of you.

The Kansas Board of Regents launched the All-Star High School program in 2022, extending the Apply Kansas mission to enhance college access by guiding students through the application process. Students in these schools receive support in completing admissions applications, seeking financial aid, and celebrating all post-secondary paths. This ongoing series of events, sustained year after year, cultivates a college-going atmosphere throughout the entire school community. We are thrilled to recognize these 217 high schools for their commitment to guiding students toward postsecondary success! Students at these high schools receive dedicated support in completing college and/or job applications, seeking financial aid, and celebrating all postsecondary pathways. This annual initiative fosters a lasting college-going culture, empowering the entire school community to champion students’ futures! Our very own Jefferson West High School Lakeside Singers have been selected to perform the National Anthem at a Kansas City Royals game! They will perform on Wednesday, May 28th, when the Royals take on the Cincinnati Reds at Kaufmann Stadium. While this is very exciting news, they need YOUR help! To get the green light from the Royals, the Lakeside Singers need to sell 200 tickets. Luckily, the Royals have given us a discounted price. Tickets start at just $20! It’s official! The Jefferson West High School Greenhouse will be open for business on Saturday, April 19, 9am-2pm. Starting April 22, it will be open only during school days and school hours. Personalized refill of planters is also available. Drop off your planters anytime before the sale date and they will be filled for you within 2 school days.
