Today, thirteen Jefferson West FFA members will attend the northeast Kansas FFA District Super Day competition at Highland Community College.
Members compete in areas related to agriculture, production, food science, veterinary science, horticulture and agribusiness. Members who place high may move on to the State level. FFA Super Day is a hands-on way for students to try lots of different areas of agriculture and see what area is a good fit.
These students are the future of agriculture in the Midwest. Good luck!

Thank you to Jefferson West High School SADD and the Kansas S.A.F.E. program for bringing Miss Kansas Alexis Smith to the High School on Friday. She talked to the students about healthy relationships and safe driving.

Last week, SADD took seatbelt statistics before school for two days. The data shows that 90% of our drivers and passengers were belted - with a large amount being parents unbelted.
SADD would like to remind everyone to PLEASE buckle up, including parents - you have such a powerful impact on your kids.
School protection officer, Chuck Haggard, made a powerful statement to some students this week saying. "I've never unbuckled a dead person."
Please be SAFE, Jefferson West, and buckle up!
Yesterday the Jefferson West Speech/Drama (Forensics) participants attended the meet in Royal Valley, qualifying them for the State Festival.
Results are as follows: 2nd Place One Act Play at League Speech, qualifying the actors for the State Festival as a team in May. Members of the play cast and crew include Bryce Midgley, Madison Sage, Mary Cordray, Sydnee Jackson, Trent Turner, Cheyanne Davis, Brett O’Neal, and Theresa Hamilton.
Junior Brett O’Neal placed 6th in Prose for his performance, qualifying him for the State Festival as an individual. TIGER ROAR!!!!!!!!
