Strong leadership is the foundation of a school’s success and without each of you that would not be possible. You have shaped the conditions for our students and your constant belief in the staff inspires us all to learn and succeed. We appreciate your tireless efforts to improve our schools and the lives of our students. Your involvement in district-wide events and activities has made not only our campuses, but our community a better place. Thank you for your exceptional leadership and guidance.

USD 340 is proud to announce that JWMS successfully defended their title as state champions, making them back-to-back winners among all schools in Kansas. Even more exciting, they earned 6th place in the nation among middle schools—their very first time breaking into the Top 10 nationally! What an extraordinary accomplishment for the students, staff, and school community.
Each season, Mr. Alan motivates students by putting something on the line to inspire their best efforts. This semester, he challenged them to place in the Top 50 schools in the nation. If they succeeded, he promised that the class who mastered the most words would get to choose the color to dye his beard and moustache.
Needless to say, JWMS students rose to the challenge in a big way—and now the celebration (and colorful facial hair) begins! It's a great day to be a Tiger! 🐅

USD 340 cannot thank our school bus drivers enough for the dedication they show every day. From completing required certifications to logging countless hours of training, you ensure our students are transported safely and reliably.
💛 1 bus + 1 driver = A BIG impact on education!
You play a vital role in helping our students arrive ready to learn and return home safely.
👏 Thank you for all you do—you truly make a difference! 🖤🤍❤️

Hello Friends of Jefferson West High School and Community Members!
Have you ever paid a bill? Are you 18 or older? Would you enjoy a fun opportunity to help students learn real-life financial skills? If you answered yes, we’d love for you to join us as a volunteer for Reality U, our interactive financial simulation!
What is Reality U?
Students will complete a pre-survey about the lifestyle they hope to have at age 26. During the event, they’ll receive a “paycheck” based on their survey and navigate real-world expenses—like housing, transportation, phone plans, and more.
What will you do as a volunteer?
You’ll run a booth as a sales representative (housing, utilities, transportation, etc.), helping students make financial decisions. Don’t worry—all booth information and training will be provided. We just need YOU!
This is a great opportunity to connect with students and help them see how their education today impacts their financial future tomorrow.
