Congratulations to Christopher Owen!! He has been nominated to receive The National Technical Honor Society through Washburn Tech. This award exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. As the honor society for Career & Technical Education, NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across the country. A beautiful night for baseball last night. Jefferson West Tigers pull it out after two close games, last one ended in a walk-off. Congratulations to Drew Beilman on his home run!

Mrs. Becker's Spanish Club members had fun at El Torito, in Topeka today. They completed a scavenger hunt about Latin foods, trying out their Spanish speaking skills, and even trying a few new products! We also had a great Mexican lunch.

In Mrs. Bahr's calculus students have been creating figures to find volumes with given cross-sections. Good things happening in math!

The Sophomores have been learning about theme, conflict, ethos, pathos and logos this unit as we make our was through Jackie Robinson’s Autobiography “I Never Had It Made.” In order to help build connections we thought what better than to take them to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum! But why stop there, if we were already there, we would have to stop by the Iconic Restaurant, Arthur Bryant’s! I just hope they enjoyed today half as much as I did. They did wonderful and represented Jefferson West High School well. I'm very proud of their maturity and seriousness in today’s experience.

USD 340 Jefferson West has an outstanding team of administrative professionals who work together every day behind the scenes to keep our District running smoothly. These ladies provide invaluable support not only to the individual buildings in which they work, but to the District as a whole, and to the community in which they live. They take care of millions of details, do more than is asked, multitask with ease, and so much more. Another solid outing for Jefferson West Tiger golf yesterday. The Tigers placed 2nd as a team in the Big East mid-season tournament. The Tigers were led by Gage Moser who shot a 79 and placed 6th! Great job guys!!
Jefferson West Varsity Golfers travel to the Nemaha Central Invite today. Tee-off is 1pm and will be held at the Spring Creek Golf Course. Good luck!
